Tugboat Captain return with ‘Everything About You’ - the final single to be lifted from their forthcoming debut studio album, Rut, out October 16th via Double A-Side Records. Having teased their bold new baroque-pop approach on previous singles ‘No Plans (For This Year)’ and ‘Day To Day’, ‘Everything About You’ finds the band in their energetic element displaying the often chaotic live sound that has become the trademark for a band renowned for their relentless DIY touring. The song focuses on frontman and protagonist Alexander Sokolow desperately trying not to be the downer at a party and doing his best to divert attention away from himself. With droll gang vocals and scrappy horns battling to hold fast, producer David Dargahi (The Postelles) has perhaps come closest to capturing Tugboat Captain’s rowdy energy as a live band on tape. Having been a part of the band’s show for the past year, the accompanying music video displays the Tugboat Captain’s unique stage rapport, all dancing and generally having a good time.
